From Roland Garros to Wimbledon

A few weeks ago, Francesca Curmi made history in becoming the first ever Maltese tennis player to qualify in a grand slam maind draw in the Juniors event of Roland Garros. She battled through the qualifying with an incredible first round win against WTA player 459 from Swiss, and swept through the second round and into the main draw!

Her journey at the prestigious Roland Garros ended in the first round of the main draw in both singles and doubles, after failing to perform to the runner up of the tournment of the singles event.

Francesca’s and her teams journey continue as they now moved to the second part of the season on the grass. This is her first time feeling and playing on this incredible surface in prepration for Wimbledon Juniours.

At the moment Francesca and her coach Matthew Asciak are on a training camp in London in preperation for the first grass court tournament in Rohampton G1. Following this, they will start their journey in Wimbledon, where she will be playing the qualifying stages…all the white of course 😉

Good Luck Francesca!!
